The World Triathlon Series 2014 starts this weekend in Auckland, New Zealand. From Javier Gomez to Jonathan Brownlee to the ever increasingly speedy Mario Mola, Series organisers say all the big names of tri will be out in force.
Whilst reigning world champion Non Stanford will be sitting out due to injury, eight of the top 10 women in the world will be competing in Auckland including Brits Jodie Stimpson and Helen Jenkins.
On the World Triathlon Series website they’ve highlighted some great things to look forward to including the rise of Mario Mola – could this be the season we start to see him catch up with fellow Spaniard Javier Gomez? Another thing that’s worth getting excited about is the strength of the Brits in the women’s races with a potential for Stimpson, Stanford and Jenkins going toe to toe as the season progresses.
