Hats off to Human Race events.
The event organiser is pushing the boundaries in triathlon this year bringing in, and even inventing, new formats to get more people involved.
First they announced Wiggle Tri Relays and now the organiser has announced plans to open up their popular Steelman Triathlon to Aquathlon* and Aquabike racing.
The ever-popular Steelman event takes place at Eton Dorney Lake, the fantastic rowing venue for the 2012 Olympics, on Saturday 12 July.
TriReview took part in 2012 click here for our write up of this race great for beginners.
For the first time this year people who don’t like the cycling can do the Aquathlon (500m swim + 5km run /1km swim + 10km run).
There’s also the Aquabike ‘for people who’s knees are starting to creak’ (500m swim + 10km bike/ 1km swim + 20k bike).
Human Race hopes this option will prove popular with triathlon veterans who can no longer face the run leg after a grueling swim and bike experience.
