The event, which is organised by British Triathlon, is still open for regular entrants with 2,500 places in total up for grabs at Sprint, Olympic and Relay distance so you can race with the best female triathlete in the world!

Gwen, who is now the first woman to win six titles in the sport’s professional circuit that determines world champions. She’s expressed her excitement at competing at Tri Liverpool this year, stating:

“I’ve heard that it’s a beautiful city and that the event has a really fast and exciting course. It comes at a great time in my training cycle and I’m really looking forward to racing hard and taking the momentum into the ITU World Triathlon Series race in Edmonton later on in August.”

Details of the course are yet to be announced but it’s likely to follow a similar route to the 2009-2012 triathlon (cancelled in 2013) starting with a swim in the Wapping Docks, then a cycle past the Liver Buildings followed by a run along the Albert Docks.

In 2012, Trieview completed the race – here’s our review including some handy tips like – IGNORE THE JELLYFISH; THEY’RE HARMLESS!
