The World’s largest IRONKIDS race got underway at 8am this morning, to mark the start of IRONMAN UK.
Amongst those cheering the kids on was 3 time IRONMAN World Champion Craig “Crowie” Alexander, who had come to show his support ahead of tomorrow’s IRONMAN event and to congratulate all the potential stars of the future by personally handing out medals as they crossed the finish line.
He’ll also be starting off tomorrow’s IRONMAN which gets underway at 6am at Pennington Flash for the 6th year in a row. Over 2000 athletes from more than 35 countries around the globe will compete in the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. The first male Pro athlete is expected to achieve this in just over 8.5 hours, crossing the finish line from approximately 14:35.
