How far do you think you and 2 mates could go in a 10 minute triathlon?
I mean, REALLY go. Now THAT’s what I call a Sprint Triathlon.
In 2016 this unique format was invented by Castle Triathlon – the Pop-Up City Triathlon. Held in Canary Wharf, it was hailed a huge success, with corporate and club teams racing to cover the most distance over a set time and claim a big prize.
2017 will see a 100 teams competing over a four-day event with a spectacular grand final.
The staged event will welcome teams to take-part in a large-scale static triathlon competing for the best distance over a given time (3 min swim in an endless pool, 4 minutes on a cycle ergometer and a 3 minute run on a treadmill with a 3% incline). The teams made up of three will compete in one discipline each and represent the same company.
Credit Suisse took home the £1000 prize last year with an outstanding overall distance of 4,640 metres.
